Kitchen Tools Needed
This is such a fantastically easy recipe, but just in case you're not super familiar with what you might need to make this no-bake dessert recipe, here's some links to tools I typically use:
- Mixing bowls
- Silicone spatula
How to Make Peppermint Fudge
In a pot over medium heat add the sweetened condensed milk and the white chocolate.
Cook until the chocolate has melted then add the mint and vanilla extract.
Cook for a few more minutes until all the liquids are gone and you get a thick texture.
Meanwhile, prepare your glass dish 5x5 inches with baking paper.
When the fudge is ready, pour the mixture in the previously prepared dish.
Add the crushed peppermints on top.
Place the fudge in the fridge to set for at least 2 hours before you cut and serve.
Note: you may want to crush the peppermint candies on really small pieces for the top because they can cause problems in the cutting process of the fudge later when set.
Frequently Asked Questions
Tips to Make Fudge Making Easier
Making fudge can be a bit tricky, but here are some tips to help make the process easier and more enjoyable:
- Line your baking dish with parchment paper before pouring in the mixture – this will make it much easier to remove after it has set
- Be sure to use ingredients that are at room temperature. If you use cold ingredients, it might not mix properly
- Be patient and don’t try to stir the mixture too quickly – this will help prevent it from becoming grainy
- Have all of your ingredients measured and prepped before you begin so that everything is ready when you need it
- Once your fudge has set, let it cool completely before cutting it into pieces.
Tips for Storing Peppermint Fudge
Peppermint fudge will keep for up to two weeks when stored in an airtight container at room temperature.
If you’d like it to last even longer, you can store it in the fridge or freezer.
To freeze, wrap individual pieces of fudge tightly in plastic wrap and place them in a freezer-safe zipper bag or container.
When you’re ready to enjoy, let the fudge thaw in the fridge overnight before consuming.
