This orange cream pie is the perfect easy dessert to make when you’re craving something light and fluffy.
PREP TIME: 30 Minutes CHILL TIME: 3 Hours 30 Minutes
INGREDIENTS: 1 ⅔ cup crushed graham crackers ¼ cup sugar Dash of ground cinnamon ¼ cup + 2 tbsp melted butter 3 ½ tbsp cornstarch 1 cup sugar ¼ cup butter 1 cup sour cream 1 tbsp orange zest 1/2 cup orange juice 3 egg yolks 1 cup milk 1 cup heavy whipping cream
Mix the cracker crumbs, sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter until the crumbs get wet. If needed add some more melted butter.
Add the mixture to a cake mold and leave it in the fridge while you are creating the next layer.
Add the butter and mix until it melts.
Place the sugar, cornstarch, orange juice, orange zest, yolks, and milk in a pot and cook until you get a thick mixture stirring constantly.
Let it chill and then add the sour cream.
Mix until everything is incorporated and pour it over the first layer.
Leave it in the fridge for at least 3 hours before you serve.
Decorate with whipped topping.
Store these for up to 1 week in the freezer. While they can last longer, they are best within the first week of preparing.
